Georgia Scholarships

Spouses and dependent children of Georgia public safety officers or public school employees who were permanently disabled or killed in the line of duty may qualify. School employees must have been victims of on-campus violence. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or eligible permanent residents and Georgia legal residents for at least 12 months. Grants cover the cost of attendance minus other financial aid, up to $18,000 per award year, with a lifetime maximum of $72,000. Recipients must enroll full-time at an eligible Georgia college, university, or technical college. Apply each academic year through GAfutures. Awards are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis as funds are available.

The Scholarship for Engineering Education (SEE) is a Georgia state forgivable loan of up to seventeen thousand five hundred dollars per year for Georgia residents pursuing ABET-accredited engineering specializations at Mercer University's School of Engineering in Macon. Eligible majors include biomedical, civil, computer, electrical, environmental, industrial, and mechanical engineering. Students must be admitted to the School of Engineering and maintain a minimum 2.5 overall cumulative HOPE GPA. Mercer notifies eligible incoming students through admissions and financial planning. SEE renews up to eight semesters based on fund availability and requires post-graduation work in an engineering-related field in Georgia.

Nursing-specific endowed scholarship for female Belmont BSN students with demonstrated financial need who are permanent residents of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, or Virginia. Students admitted to the College of Nursing are automatically considered when they apply for first-year admission by December 1 or transfer admission by February 1. Awards range from $2,000 to $7,000 based on GPA, class rank, and community involvement. No separate nursing scholarship application is required beyond admission to the nursing major.

Georgia residents enrolled in ABET-accredited engineering or engineering technology programs, or ACCE-accredited construction management, may apply. Scholarships support freshmen, upperclassmen, and graduate students preparing for engineering careers. Individual awards typically range from $1,000 to $5,000, with up to 60 scholarships granted annually. Selection weighs academics, engineering interest, financial need, and involvement. Complete the online application with a photo, transcript, SAT or ACT scores if needed, and three references for incoming freshmen.

Graduating high school seniors who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents of Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, New York, North Carolina, Utah, or select California counties may apply for the Greenhouse Scholars Whole Person College Program. Applicants need a 3.5+ unweighted GPA and household income at or below $80,000. Up to 37 scholars receive up to $5,000 per academic year in last-dollar tuition support over five undergraduate years, plus mentorship, professional networking, leadership training, internship support, flex funding grants, and community projects. Part 1 requires a short answer response; eligible applicants are invited to Part 2 with transcripts, test scores, two recommendations, four written responses, a five-minute video, and proof of income. Finalists attend in-person interviews. Semi-finalists and finalists complete a multi-stage application process.

Georgia residents pursuing a CPA license who are rising juniors, seniors, or graduate accounting students at SACS-accredited Georgia colleges may apply. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or eligible permanent residents, maintain at least a 3.0 overall or accounting GPA, and enroll in six or more upper-division semester hours during the award period. One-time checks of $1,000 to $5,000 are paid to the school for fall 2026, spring 2027, and/or summer 2027 use. The 2026-27 deadline was February 1, 2026; the foundation awarded more than $164,700 to 70+ students in 2026. The Educational Foundation of GSCPA has supported Georgia CPA candidates since 1957.

Actively practicing visual artists 18 and older who are legal U.S. residents and permanent residents of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, or Tennessee for at least two years may apply. Matriculated high school or fine-arts degree students are ineligible. Each of nine state fellows receives a $5,000 unrestricted award. Fellows then compete for the $25,000 Southern Prize or $10,000 finalist prize plus a Hambidge Center residency. Fellows must attend an awards ceremony and participate in a touring exhibition. Applications are submitted through South Arts' Salesforce portal with a $25 fee (waivers available), state ID, work samples, artist statement, and resume. The 2026 cycle closed March 18, 2026. South Arts is the regional arts organization for the nine-state American South, funded by state arts agencies and private foundations.

Greenhouse Scholars provides an annual scholarship award of up to $5,000 plus comprehensive support, including one-on-one mentorship, professional networking, internship support, and an annual Summer Symposium. Once accepted, Scholars do not reapply each year. Applicants must be graduating high school seniors planning to attend a four-year accredited institution; be US citizens or permanent residents and legal residents of Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, New York, North Carolina, or Utah (select Southern California counties are also served); have a cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.5 or above; and demonstrate financial need with annual household income no greater than $80,000. The multi-round application includes short answers, an essay, two recommendations, a video response, financial information, and an interview. Round 2 closed December 3 in the most recent cycle.

The Georgia ROTC and Future Officer Grant provides state funding to Georgia residents who fully participate in the University of North Georgia Corps of Cadets. Georgia residents receive up to $750 at the end of each semester for Corps participation, and cadets who sign agreements to commission as Army officers receive up to $2,000 per semester. There is no need to apply before enrolling at UNG; the Commandant of Cadets provides application instructions after arrival on campus. The grant supplements other military scholarships and ROTC benefits for cadets on a commissioning track. Eligibility is limited to Georgia residents enrolled in the Corps of Cadets at UNG who meet participation and commissioning agreement requirements each semester.

Professional working artists 18 and older in dance, music, theatre, visual arts, crafts, photography, design, media, literature, folk/traditional art, and related disciplines who are legal U.S. residents of the nine-state South Arts region may apply. Degree-seeking students during the grant period are ineligible. Grants cover up to two-thirds of a career-milestone opportunity (residency, exhibition, conference, apprenticeship, or similar), with a $500 minimum and $3,000 maximum. South Arts requires a 2:1 match. Activities must occur between November 1, 2025 and June 30, 2026. Rolling applications were accepted July 16, 2025 through April 30, 2026 via Salesforce. Applicants must submit narrative responses, budget, resume, work samples, and evidence of invitation to the proposed activity. South Arts supports individual artists across the American South through competitive grants for professional development and presentation opportunities.
