Nursing Scholarships

U.S. residents who are high school seniors, graduates, GED recipients, or current undergraduates with at least a 2.5 GPA pursuing education, counseling, social work, psychology, or nursing at an accredited college or vocational school may apply. Education, counseling, social work, and psychology applicants must commit to working in K-12 systems. Renewable awards of up to $5,000 per year for two-year or vocational programs, or up to $10,000 per year for four-year programs, may continue for up to four additional years. Up to 100 recipients may be selected. Submit academic records and three essays on educational goals, personal challenges, and plans for impact. Financial need is considered. DACA recipients are eligible.

Central Ohio high school graduates age 18 or older entering Felbry College School of Nursing with at least a 3.0 high school GPA and demonstrated financial need may apply for the FCSON Scholarship toward a Practical Nursing Diploma or Associate of Applied Science in Nursing. Four disadvantaged, low-income recipients receive up to $7,500 per academic year for tuition, books, and fees, applied directly to their account. Submit the scholarship application with official high school transcript and FAFSA documentation. Felbry College established this award to help lower-income students begin nursing careers in central Ohio.

Residents of the Grossmont Healthcare District for at least one year, or employees who have worked within district boundaries for at least two years, enrolled in healthcare-related technical training or degree programs may apply for the Health Tech Scholarship. Ten awards are granted with prizes up to $5,250. Applicants may apply to only one district scholarship program per year and can receive the award only once. Provide proof of registration in a current health technology course of instruction. Non-residents qualify if they have worked in the district for the required period.

Full-time undergraduate or graduate nursing students enrolled in a state-accredited program in California or Nevada may apply. You need at least one year of school remaining, a 3.5 GPA, and U.S. citizenship or permanent residency. Two one-time $5,000 scholarships are awarded each year, one for a California student and one for a Nevada student. Funds are paid directly to your school for tuition, fees, books, supplies, and required equipment. Apply between September 1 and the November deadline with enrollment verification, official transcripts, two nursing faculty recommendations, and a signed release form. Finalists may interview with the committee; recipients are notified by the end of March. Selected students serve as Bonnie Fang Foundation student ambassadors through volunteer work.

Economically disadvantaged women from or attending school in the Mid-Atlantic region (DE, MD, VA, WV, PA, NJ, NY, or DC) who are pursuing healthcare careers may apply for the Dr. Omega Logan Silva Scholarship. One recipient receives $5,000. Applicants need a minimum 3.0 GPA, significant school and community involvement, and plans to work in the Mid-Atlantic after completing their program. Submit a completed application, transcript, activity sheet, two non-relative recommendations, and a 250- to 500-word essay on how a healthcare degree will make a difference in your life. Finalists are interviewed.

Underrepresented students pursuing health professions degrees (MD, DO, MSW, DDS, PharmD, graduate-level nursing, or physician assistant) who show leadership and a commitment to research addressing health disparities in medically underserved communities may receive the United Health Foundation's Future Clinicians Scholarship through partner organizations such as National Medical Fellowships. The program provides $5,000 scholarships renewable for up to four years if eligibility is maintained (about 50 scholars). Applicants apply through partner channels, highlighting community service, research interest, and professional development, and must maintain eligibility for renewal.

Hospital-based cardiac care nurses and nursing students pursuing a career in cardiac care may apply for the Heartfelt Dreams Foundation Nursing Scholarship. One annual award of $5,000 is granted through a competitive application process open to applicants nationwide. Complete the foundation's academic nursing scholarship application form and attach a current resume by the posted deadline. The foundation supports professional development of nurses who care for congenital heart defect patients.

Undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in mental or behavioral health, nursing, or addiction medicine programs may apply. FHE Health awards two $5,000 Hope for Healing Scholarships annually, one for an undergraduate and one for a graduate student. Undergraduates need a 3.0 college GPA or 3.5 high school GPA; graduate applicants need a 3.0 from a four-year institution. Submit the online form with transcripts, proof of enrollment, and a 400 to 1,000 word essay. Award funds are paid directly to the recipient's school. FHE Health created this scholarship to encourage talented students to pursue careers in addiction and mental health treatment.

U.S. citizens accepted into or pursuing an accredited medical or osteopathic doctor program may apply through DAR's scholarship portal. Pre-med, physician assistant, nurse practitioner, and veterinary programs do not qualify. Graduate students in psychiatric nursing at accredited institutions are also eligible. Two awards of $5,000 are given. Renewal requires maintaining a 3.25 GPA. Female applicants receive preference when equally qualified. Apply through the DAR Academic Works portal by the January deadline. The Irene and Daisy MacGregor Memorial Scholarship supports students of high scholastic standing preparing for careers in medicine or psychiatric nursing.

U.S. residents accepted to or enrolled full time in an accredited U.S. nursing program with a minimum 3.0 GPA may apply for the Baby360 Nursing Scholarship. Two $2,500 one-time awards are offered per year. Selection weighs academic performance, leadership, work experience, career goals, financial need, and community involvement. Applicants submit proof of enrollment, a transcript, at least one recommendation letter, and a professional headshot.
