The Corewell Health West GVSU Nurse Scholars Program is a partnership grant for students admitted to the Kirkhof College of Nursing traditional or accelerated second-degree BSN programs at Grand Valley State University. Traditional BSN students receive $4,000 per semester for five semesters ($20,000 total); accelerated second-degree students receive $5,000 per semester for four semesters ($20,000 total). In exchange, recipients commit to two years of full-time registered nurse employment at a Corewell Health West Michigan inpatient facility after graduation and licensure. Students apply through GVSU's scholarship database, receive a dedicated RN coach, and must maintain satisfactory academic progress. Failure to complete the service obligation converts the grant to a repayable loan.
