Scholarships for Women

Women who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents and who hold the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor's degree may apply for AAUW International Fellowships to pursue full-time graduate or postdoctoral study in the United States. Five winners each receive a $20,000 tuition stipend. Film a three-minute public YouTube mini-lecture explaining a STEM topic you are passionate about. The video must be scientifically accurate with cited sources, creative, and not a personal statement. An advisory board of women and non-binary STEM professionals reviews submissions and selects finalists.

New female students accepted to College of Saint Mary who are U.S. citizens with at least a 3.0 GPA and plans to major in biology, chemistry, mathematics, or human biology (non-Pre-PA) while living on campus may apply for the NSF-funded Marie Curie Scholars Program. Up to seven students may receive up to $20,000 per year, renewable up to four years. The program includes academic support, research opportunities, STEM community activities, conference travel, internships, and industry networking. Complete the Marie Curie application, FAFSA, a 500-word STEM essay, and a virtual interview with the program director. The scholarship supports academically talented women in STEM fields.

Single mothers pursuing a human-resources-related bachelor's degree who demonstrate financial need and have at least one dependent child under 14 may apply. One recipient receives $20,000 per year for tuition and childcare for up to four years, with the first two years at community college followed by transfer to a four-year school. The award also includes a paid flexible internship, a Melita Group mentor, and consideration for full-time employment after graduation. Women graduating high school and entering college, or current U.S. college or graduate students, pursuing STEM majors with a minimum 3.5 GPA may apply for Endeavour Women in Tech Group scholarships. Four awards of up to $10,000 each are granted: two for incoming freshmen and two for current college or graduate students. Applicants must demonstrate exceptional work, research, or advocacy in STEM. Submit the online application with a personal statement on your STEM background and impact, proof of enrollment, transcript, and a letter of recommendation.

Female college juniors who are U.S. citizens enrolled at an accredited U.S. academic institution, with a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA, and whose studies in entertainment and technology show exceptional promise may apply for the Hedy Lamarr Achievement Award for Emerging Leaders in Entertainment Technology. One $10,000 award may be used at the recipient’s discretion to further academic or professional goals in entertainment technology. The winner is announced in November at a ceremony honoring Lamarr’s legacy. Complete the DEG application and submit proof of eligibility, including GPA verification and U.S. citizenship documentation. Austrian-American actress Hedy Lamarr was also an inventor whose work on frequency hopping helped lay groundwork for spread-spectrum technology.

Women and non-binary graduate students with a 3.0 or higher GPA enrolled in transportation-related fields such as engineering, planning, finance, or logistics who plan transportation careers may apply for the Helene M. Overly Memorial Graduate Scholarship through their local WTS chapter. One national award of $10,000 is selected from chapter nominees. Scholarships are competitive and weigh transportation career goals, academic record, and transportation-related activities. Apply through your local WTS chapter by its posted deadline. National winners are announced at the WTS Annual Conference.

Female U.S. citizens who are juniors, seniors, or graduate students majoring or concentrating in real estate or related fields at an accredited U.S. college may apply for CREW Chicago scholarships. Each award provides $7,500 for the academic year sought. Required materials include an application form, two essays, official transcripts, a resume, and two sealed recommendation letters mailed or emailed to info@crewchicago.org. Since 2014, CREW Chicago has awarded scholarships to support women pursuing careers in commercial real estate.

Full-time sophomores at accredited U.S. universities majoring in Business, Economics, or STEM with at least a 3.5 GPA who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, community service, and financial need may apply for the CRA All-Access Scholarship. Twelve non-renewable awards of $5,000 each support junior-year expenses. The program prioritizes female students and students from underrepresented communities or socioeconomically challenging backgrounds. Submit a complete application with personal essays and recommendations through ISTS. CRA employees and their dependents are ineligible.
