Electrical Engineering Scholarships

High school seniors and undergraduate women and non-binary students pursuing STEM degrees at U.S. colleges may apply for the Cards Against Humanity Science Ambassador Scholarship. Five winners each receive a $20,000 tuition stipend. Film a three-minute public YouTube mini-lecture explaining a STEM topic you are passionate about. The video must be scientifically accurate with cited sources, creative, and not a personal statement. An advisory board of women and non-binary STEM professionals reviews submissions and selects finalists.

African American residents of Hampton Roads, Virginia with at least a 3.0 GPA who are committed to pursuing a STEM degree may apply for the African American Leadership Society STEM Scholarship administered by United Way of South Hampton Roads. Eligible applicants include high school seniors, currently enrolled college students, and qualifying veterans entering college. Scholarships are worth up to $10,000 toward tuition. The number of awards varies. Women account for at least 50% of recipients, and 25% of awards are designated for first-generation college students. Complete the online STEM application with required materials. Applicants must plan to enroll as a college student majoring in a STEM field. AALS aims to build a pipeline of Black STEM leaders and reduce racial and gender gaps in STEM fields across South Hampton Roads.

High school seniors planning to study computer science or engineering full time at a U.S. college may apply for the Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship. Recipients receive up to $10,000 per year for up to four years based on unmet financial need, plus a paid Amazon internship after freshman year. Selection weighs academics, leadership, activities, and financial need. Up to 200 students may be selected. Applicants must demonstrate authorization to work in the U.S. and submit the online application with academic records and financial need documentation by the posted deadline.

Undergraduate or graduate students with a visible or non-visible disability who are enrolled full time at a four-year university in the U.S. or Canada and major in business, computer science, engineering, math, physics, statistics, or a related field may apply. Applicants should have interest in a financial services career, ideally in capital markets. U.S. recipients receive $10,000. Apply through Lime Connect after joining The Lime Network. Submit contact and education details, a resume, current transcripts, an essay on your career goals and scholarship fit, and one letter of reference from a professor, advisor, or supervisor.

U.S. citizen college sophomores, juniors, and seniors enrolled full time in fall who demonstrate financial need and are pursuing degrees in civil, mechanical, electrical, architectural, structural, or related engineering fields may apply for IMEG engineering scholarships. Awards are up to $10,000 for underrepresented students with strong potential. Submit two recommendation letters and an unofficial transcript. Applicants must not be employed at IMEG or related to an IMEG employee. IMEG, a 100% employee-owned firm, supports the next generation of engineering innovators.

Full-time sophomores, juniors, and seniors at accredited North American universities majoring in engineering, engineering technology, computer science, data science, safety, or industrial hygiene who plan careers in the iron and steel industry may apply. Applicants must be USMCA citizens (U.S., Canada, or Mexico) with a minimum 2.5 GPA. Recipients receive a $7,500 scholarship and must commit to a paid summer internship at a North American steel-related company. AIST assists with internship placement, and self-placed internships require pre-approval. Apply with an essay, resume, transcript, and recommendation letters expressing strong interest in the iron and steel industry by the October 5 deadline.

College sophomores and juniors who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents with at least a 3.0 GPA and intent to pursue research careers in natural sciences, mathematics, or engineering must apply through their campus Goldwater faculty representative. Each scholar receives up to $7,500 per academic year for one or two years depending on class year. Up to 454 scholarships may be awarded nationally. Nominees submit a research essay, questionnaire, three recommendations, and transcripts. Campus nominations are due the last Friday in January. Direct applications without campus nomination are not considered.

Undergraduate science or engineering students interested in tribology may apply for the E. Richard Booser Scholarship through the Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers (STLE) Presidential Awards Program. One $4,500 award includes a research term: $3,000 upon receipt and $1,500 upon completion of a research report. STLE membership is not required, and previous non-Booser STLE award winners may apply. Selection is based on a faculty letter of recommendation, research relevance, and proposed research quality. Submit the application on STLE's Submittable page with a research proposal. Winners' reports are published in the STLE magazine.

Full-time undergraduate students in a construction-related degree program at a U.S. college or university may apply for the Eleanor K. Buckley Memorial Scholarship through the NAWIC Philadelphia Foundation and NFSF. Applicants must be in their first, second, or third year with at least one term remaining. High school seniors and graduate students are not eligible. Awards range up to $2,500. Eligible majors include construction, construction management, architecture, civil, mechanical, electrical, or structural engineering.

U.S. high school seniors and community college or university students enrolled in relevant STEM programs where fluid power is taught may apply for the NFPA Fluid Power Scholarship. Master's and PhD students, graduating seniors in May or June, and prior recipients reapplying with the same essay question are not eligible. Twenty awards of $2,500 each are granted annually. Funds may be used at any accredited U.S. technical college or university. Submit the Kaleidoscope application with 400 to 500 and 200-word essays, a transcript, enrollment verification, and a recommendation by the March 15 deadline.
