Arizona Scholarships

Incoming first-year and transfer students from WUE-eligible Western states who are admitted to the University of New Mexico are automatically considered for the Western Undergraduate Exchange Plus program. Eligible students need a 3.0 GPA or 20 ACT (1030 SAT). WUE Plus reduces non-resident tuition to the New Mexico resident rate, with a value of up to $23,149 per year. The award is renewable for up to four years with 15 credits and a 2.5 GPA each fall and spring semester. No separate scholarship application is required, but applying by your admission deadline improves consideration.

The Garcia Family Foundation Scholarship provides up to eight entering Franke Honors freshmen $10,000 plus up to $10,000 in study abroad travel stipends. Applicants must be admitted to the W.A. Franke Honors College for Fall 2026, hold a minimum 3.75 unweighted high school GPA, be Arizona residents, and enroll full time. Apply January 15 through March 1, 2027 via ScholarshipUniverse with a resume, unofficial transcript, two recommendation letters, and a personal statement on using their degree to benefit their community. Awards require maintaining Honors status for renewal.

Flinn Designated Scholars who enroll at the University of Arizona receive this Flinn Foundation cash award in addition to the Flinn Semi-Finalist Tuition Scholarship or another qualifying tuition award. The funding is $16,500 per year while students remain Designated Scholars with the Flinn Foundation and maintain renewal eligibility of 12 units per semester and a 3.20 cumulative GPA. Designated Scholars cannot combine this award with the Baird Scholarship. Combined with the Semi-Finalist Tuition Award, the example package totals $28,668 per year at Arizona.

Automatic WUE nursing award for incoming nonresident first-year students who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents from a participating WUE state or territory, hold an unweighted GPA of 3.90 to 4.00, and are Pre-Nursing or Nursing majors. The scholarship covers 150% of resident tuition, saving about $16,339 per year for up to four years with full-time enrollment and a 3.00 renewal GPA. Construction Management, Radiological Science, alternative fee, and fully online majors are ineligible. Admission files must be complete by December 15 for fall.

Institutional grant program for high-need Arizona residents admitted as first-year, full-time, on-campus undergraduates pursuing their first bachelor's degree at ASU. Eligible students must be Federal Pell Grant eligible, enroll at ASU the fall immediately after Arizona high school graduation, and remain Arizona residents. The program covers resident tuition and mandatory fees, valued up to $14,814 per year for up to eight consecutive fall and spring semesters. No separate application is required beyond FAFSA and admission by published deadlines.

Arizona-resident U.S. citizens or permanent residents who are first-time, full-time freshmen pursuing a first bachelor's degree at the University of Arizona are automatically considered. Tiered Wildcat tuition awards range up to $12,500 per academic year, renewable up to eight semesters with a 3.0 GPA and 30 annual units. Awards are not available for Arizona Online programs or spring admission. Apply for admission by November 1 for priority merit consideration. Secure funding with your enrollment fee by May 1.

The Dorrance Scholarship Program provides $12,000 per year for four years to eligible Arizona first-generation college students attending the University of Arizona Tucson main campus. Up to 60 scholarships are awarded annually across Arizona's three public universities. Applicants must be Arizona residents, current high school seniors, first-generation students, hold at least a 3.0 GPA, meet minimum test scores (1110 SAT, 22 ACT, or 72 CLT), complete the FAFSA, and agree to live on campus during freshman and sophomore years. Apply through the Dorrance Foundation from October 1, 2025 through February 4, 2026.

Arizona resident incoming freshmen at Northern Arizona University who meet Arizona Proposition 300 public program eligibility, have not received a baccalaureate degree, enroll full-time, and attend the Flagstaff Mountain campus are automatically considered for the Lumberjack Scholars Award upon admission. Eligibility is based on completion or in-progress work in the 16 college-preparatory core courses required for admission and a minimum 3.75 unweighted core high school GPA, with no letter grade lower than a B in any required core course. The structured award is $11,000 per year toward tuition. Recipients must maintain a 2.0 GPA. Accept the offer of admission and pay the enrollment deposit by May 1 for the following academic year; submit final high school transcripts as instructed in the award letter. No separate scholarship application is required.

Arizona scholarship program offering up to $10,000 per year for first-generation Arizona residents with financial need who attend ASU, NAU, UA, or Maricopa Community Colleges full-time with FAFSA on file. Scholars complete 20 volunteer hours per semester with CPLC and maintain 3.0 GPA for renewal. Apply through each institution's Scholarship Universe portal; deadlines vary by campus.

Arizona resident incoming freshmen at Northern Arizona University who meet Arizona Proposition 300 public program eligibility, have not received a baccalaureate degree, enroll full-time, and attend the Flagstaff Mountain campus are automatically considered for the President's Resident Tuition Scholarship upon admission. Applicants must have a 3.5 GPA. The award is $9,000 per year toward tuition. It can be combined with outside tuition scholarships up to the cost of tuition, but not with other NAU merit-based tuition scholarships. Recipients must maintain a 2.0 GPA. Accept admission and pay the enrollment deposit by May 1; submit final transcripts as instructed. No separate scholarship application is required.
