Artist Opportunity Grant

Arizona individual artists 18 or older may request $500 to $1,500 to pursue a specific career opportunity with significant professional impact. Open to all disciplines and career stages. Artists may receive only one Opportunity Grant every two fiscal years.

Eligible activities include presenting work to new audiences, developing skills through residencies or workshops, or building artistic entrepreneurship (marketing, equipment, professional fees). The proposed opportunity must occur within the funding period.

FY27 Cycle A closed June 11, 2026. Cycle B applications open later in summer 2026 for activities through June 30, 2027.

The Arizona Commission on the Arts administers Artist Opportunity Grants through its online portal at azarts.smapply.io.
