Nevada Scholarships

Incoming first-year and transfer students from WUE-eligible Western states who are admitted to the University of New Mexico are automatically considered for the Western Undergraduate Exchange Plus program. Eligible students need a 3.0 GPA or 20 ACT (1030 SAT). WUE Plus reduces non-resident tuition to the New Mexico resident rate, with a value of up to $23,149 per year. The award is renewable for up to four years with 15 credits and a 2.5 GPA each fall and spring semester. No separate scholarship application is required, but applying by your admission deadline improves consideration.

Automatic WUE nursing award for incoming nonresident first-year students who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents from a participating WUE state or territory, hold an unweighted GPA of 3.90 to 4.00, and are Pre-Nursing or Nursing majors. The scholarship covers 150% of resident tuition, saving about $16,339 per year for up to four years with full-time enrollment and a 3.00 renewal GPA. Construction Management, Radiological Science, alternative fee, and fully online majors are ineligible. Admission files must be complete by December 15 for fall.

Pack Promise+ is a need-based last-dollar program ensuring eligible Nevada residents receive up to eleven thousand seven hundred fifty dollars in gift aid for the twenty twenty-six twenty seven year toward tuition, fees, and books at the University of Nevada, Reno. Recipients must pursue a first bachelor's degree, enroll full time in fifteen credits per semester, qualify for the Federal Pell Grant, and have a Student Aid Index of seven thousand dollars or less. Students apply for admission and complete the FAFSA or Institutional Methodology form annually between October first and February fifteenth using federal school code zero zero two five six eight. Gift aid fills remaining costs after other grants and scholarships and does not require repayment.

The Presidential Level Scholarship awards ten thousand dollars per year for up to four consecutive years to new Nevada resident freshmen pursuing their first bachelor's degree at the University of Nevada, Reno. Eligibility pairs unweighted high school GPA with ACT or SAT scores, such as a four point zero GPA with at least a thirty-two ACT or fourteen twenty SAT. Students must enroll full time in fifteen in-person credits each fall and spring, enroll by June fifteenth, and file a complete admissions file plus FAFSA or Institutional Methodology form and MyNEVADA scholarship application by February fifteenth. Renewal requires maintaining Nevada residency, federal SAP, fifteen credits per semester, and a three point five cumulative UNR GPA starting year two.

Residents of the NATAS Pacific Southwest Chapter area (San Diego, Las Vegas, Bakersfield, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Santa Maria, or Palm Springs) who are undergraduates enrolled in at least 9 units or graduate students enrolled in at least 6 units at a two- or four-year college or university, demonstrate financial need and creative achievement, and are preparing for careers in television or related fields may apply for chapter scholarships for the coming fall or spring term. Award amounts are listed as $5,000 in catalog data; confirm current amounts with the chapter. The number of awards varies. Since the program began, the chapter has awarded nearly $300,000 in grants. Submit the application with proof of residency, transcripts, evidence of creative achievement (such as a portfolio or project), and a statement of financial need.

Nevada resident artists age 21 or older who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents may apply for unrestricted $5,000 merit fellowships. Degree-seeking students in the applying discipline are ineligible. Visual, literary, and performing arts rotate on a three-year cycle (FY27 was performing arts/music). Artists with two prior Nevada Arts Council fellowships may not reapply. Applications typically open in March and close May 1 through the Nevada Arts Council online system. Concealed panel review evaluates work samples from the last ten years. The Nevada Arts Council recognizes sustained artistic excellence among committed Nevada practitioners.

The Provost Level Scholarship provides five thousand dollars per year for up to four years to eligible Nevada resident freshmen at the University of Nevada, Reno who meet paired unweighted GPA and test-score thresholds, such as a three point five GPA with a thirty-five to thirty-six ACT. Applicants must pursue a first bachelor's degree, enroll in fifteen in-person credits each fall and spring, and submit a complete admissions file with FAFSA or Institutional Methodology and the MyNEVADA scholarship application by February fifteenth. Only one four-year Nevada freshman award is granted per student. Continuing recipients must maintain Nevada residency, federal SAP, fifteen credits per semester, and a three point two cumulative UNR GPA from the second year onward.

The Nevada Scholars Level Scholarship awards three thousand dollars annually for up to four years to Nevada resident freshmen at the University of Nevada, Reno who qualify through the published unweighted GPA and ACT or SAT matrix. General requirements include pursuing a first bachelor's degree, enrolling in fifteen in-person credits each fall and spring, enrolling by June fifteenth, and submitting admissions materials, test scores, FAFSA or Institutional Methodology, and the MyNEVADA scholarship application by February fifteenth. Transfer students are ineligible for these in-state renewable awards. Recipients must maintain Nevada residency, federal SAP, fifteen credits per semester, and a two point nine cumulative UNR GPA beginning in the second year.

High school seniors residing in California, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Texas, or Washington who plan to enroll full time as first-year students at a U.S. accredited four-year college, university, or community college may apply. You need a minimum 3.0 unweighted GPA and household income at or below the program's low-income threshold. Employees of Cathay Bank and their immediate family members are not eligible. APCF administers twenty Cathay Bank Foundation scholarships of $2,500 each for first-year study at accredited U.S. institutions. Submit the APCF application form, a recommender form, and your high school transcript by the deadline. Selected students must provide a college acceptance letter and tax return verifying income. The Cathay Bank Foundation supports youth in its business service territories pursuing higher education.

Female NSPS student members enrolled in two- or four-year surveying or related degree programs who are legal residents of Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, or Wyoming may apply for the $2,000 Cady McDonnell Memorial Scholarship, awarded in odd-numbered years only. One award is available. Submit an application, proof of residency, transcripts, three recommendations, and a personal letter through the NSPS Foundation scholarship application.
