Oklahoma Scholarships

Oklahoma students apply once through OCCF's two-part Universal Application on GrantInterface and are matched to 200+ donor scholarship funds statewide. Eligibility varies by fund but generally covers Oklahoma high school seniors and current college, graduate, and career/technical students. Individual awards commonly range from about $2,000 to $20,000 and are paid to the student's college. Part 1 collects background, academics, and financial aid data; Part 2 prompts supplemental questions for matched funds. The portal opens each October 1 with a major deadline of February 15. OCCF awards roughly $2.5 million in scholarships annually.

The Regional Baccalaureate Scholarship at Northwestern Oklahoma State University covers 16 hours of tuition per semester, a semi-private residence hall room, and $3,500 cash each academic year for qualifying Oklahoma resident freshmen. Applicants must have at least a 3.0 high school cumulative GPA and a 30 composite ACT on a national test, and must complete the Freshman Scholarship Application by May 15 with supporting transcripts and scores. NWOSU lists this as a four-year academic award valued at approximately $12,793 per year in its recruitment materials. Students must apply annually because Northwestern scholarships are not automatically renewed.

Residents of Arkansas, Louisiana, or Oklahoma diagnosed with end-stage renal disease who are currently on dialysis or are kidney transplant recipients and demonstrate financial need may apply. One scholarship of up to $5,000 per academic year covers tuition at higher-education or vocational programs. Funding may renew for one additional year based on academic performance and fund availability. Submit a statement of purpose, a reference from a nephrology professional, and the application. Funds are paid directly to the educational institution.

Texas or Oklahoma residents accepted to or enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate technology-related degree program with a minimum 3.0 GPA may apply for Centre Technologies' Kathy Pace Technology Scholarship. One $5,000 award is given annually. Funds may be used for tuition and other school-related expenses. Submit two recommendations, a transcript, a degree plan, and an 800-word essay. The scholarship honors Kathy Pace and her belief in combining compassion with technology to strengthen communities.

The Oklahoma Transfer Award grants five thousand dollars per academic year to transfer students who enroll in Oklahoma City University's Meinders School of Business or Petree College of Arts and Sciences after completing at least thirty credit hours at an Oklahoma college or university with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA. Recipients must transfer directly from an Oklahoma institution attended the semester before OCU enrollment. The award splits twenty-five hundred dollars each fall and spring for up to six semesters and is not stackable with tuition exchange or employee remission benefits.

The Oklahoma State Regents Academic Scholarship is awarded automatically to academically outstanding Oklahoma high school graduates at Oklahoma Christian University. Recipients receive five thousand dollars per academic year toward tuition, room, board, and fees for up to eight semesters. Eligibility requires a total ACT score of 103 or higher from English, Math, and Reading subtests, or an SAT sum of 1560 or higher from critical reading and math, plus maintenance of a 3.25 cumulative GPA and completion of twenty-four semester credit hours each year. OC applies the award through the admission application process.

Oklahoma residents attending eligible Oklahoma colleges, universities, and career technology centers may receive the Oklahoma Tuition Aid Grant (OTAG), a need-based grant for full-time or part-time undergraduates. Financial need is determined by the Student Aid Index on the FAFSA, and students must qualify for a Pell Grant for the current academic term. Undocumented immigrant students may qualify under specific residency and documentation rules. The grant is not available for virtual Prison Education Programs. The maximum annual award is the lesser of 75 percent of enrollment costs or up to $1,500 at community colleges and career technology centers, $2,000 at regional universities, and $3,000 at research universities. Awards are typically split between fall and spring. Funding is limited. Submit the FAFSA as early as possible. Undocumented students meeting criteria should complete the Application for Undocumented Immigrants and mail it to OTAG. Institutions determine final eligibility and amounts based on state funding and campus policy.

High school seniors or college students in the Dairy MAX region who have ties to the dairy industry may apply for Dairy MAX academic scholarships. Eligible applicants live in Colorado, southwest Kansas, Louisiana, Montana, New Mexico, western Oklahoma, Texas, or Wyoming and are either a child of a dairy farmer, a child of a dairy farm employee at a checkoff-funding dairy, or an FFA or 4-H dairy show participant in junior or senior year of high school. Three $2,500 scholarships are awarded. Selection weighs scholastic achievement, leadership, and agricultural involvement. Applications are available on the sponsor site. Dairy MAX supports students continuing their education in agriculture across its multi-state territory.

Oklahoma residents enrolled full-time as undergraduates at qualifying Oklahoma private, not-for-profit institutions may receive need-based grants. Applicants must have family income of $50,000 or less, demonstrate unmet financial need, and not have earned a first bachelor's degree. Awards are $2,000 per academic year ($1,000 per semester) when funds are available. The number of recipients varies. Complete the FAFSA and report Oklahoma as your state of legal residence. Eligible students are selected and notified by their institution's financial aid office.

Oklahoma residents enrolled full time in an undergraduate public-service degree program at an Oklahoma college or university may be nominated by their institution's president for the George and Donna Nigh Public Service Scholarship. Each participating institution nominates one student annually for a non-renewable $1,000 award. Recipients also participate in public service seminars offered by the Nigh Institute. Nominees must demonstrate exceptional academic achievement and preparation for a career in public service. The scholarship was established by the Oklahoma Legislature in 1999 to support outstanding students entering public service careers.
