Scholarships at University of Toronto

Full-time University of Toronto undergraduate students entering second year with a strong academic record, serious involvement in sports or the arts, and demonstrated financial need may receive the Roberta Charlesworth Award. The award is $5,000. One or more recipients may be selected each cycle. Selection is based on academic achievement, extracurricular involvement in sports or arts, and financial need through University of Toronto in-course award processes.

University of Toronto students selected by the Scadding Court Community Centre who have satisfactorily completed first year and are registered full-time in the subsequent academic year may receive the Investing in our Diversity Scholarship. The award is $4,000 toward tuition and school-related expenses. Selection is made through the Scadding Court / Toronto Community Housing Investing in Our Diversity process; U of T recipients are those chosen by Scadding Court who continue as full-time students.

University of Toronto School of the Environment full-time undergraduates in Environmental Science Major, Environment and Health Major or Specialist, Environment and Toxicology Specialist, or Environmental Geosciences Specialist may apply. Recipients must be in good academic standing with demonstrated financial need; involvement in sustainability issues is also considered. One award of $2,000. Apply with a cover letter, resume, and transcript by September 30. Established by the University of Toronto Women's Association.

UTM-affiliated graduate students enrolled in a thesis-based Biology research program and supervised by Biology faculty may apply once to help cover open-access publication fees for their first first-author paper. Support is up to $1,500 per student, one time only. Email Kay Martinez with a copy of the invoice and the publication citation. Funds may be transferred to the PI account that paid the fee, or reimbursed if the fee was paid on a personal card under U of T financial policies.

University of Toronto students with academic merit and financial need whose parent or parents are members of a trade union may be considered for the Douglas K. Campbell Memorial Bursary. The award is $1,000. Apply through the university's in-course awards process.

University of Toronto Scarborough students entering 3rd or 4th year who have completed at least 1 FCE in Asian studies or Buddhist studies and plan to continue in these areas may be considered. Preference goes to students with at least a 3.0 GPA who participate in campus life and foster cross-cultural connections. The award is $1,000.

Open to an undergraduate medical student in the Faculty of Medicine who has financial need and is undertaking an elective in anaesthesia. One bursary of $450 is awarded. Award applications are available in September.

Victoria College students at the University of Toronto who demonstrate financial need may apply for this bursary funded by the C D Howe Memorial Foundation. The award amount varies. Apply through Victoria College's online bursary form and name this award in your personal statement.

Given to a member of the graduating class who has committed an outstanding act on behalf of their class. One award is available; the amount varies. An application is required.

For University College students at the University of Toronto enrolled in UC with demonstrated financial need. Amount varies based on the annual income of the fund. Apply using the online grant application available on ACORN. These bursaries are a gift from the students and alumni of University College in honour of former principal D.V. LePan and former registrar R.M.H. Shepherd.
