Cox Scholarship. Two recipients are selected each year, one early-stage and one advanced graduate student, each receiving $1,000 and a certificate. Applications are due March 1 and require a personal essay of at least one double-spaced page covering program goals, career plans, and leadership or service experience. The scholarship was established in 1989 to encourage more women to enter statistically oriented professions.

$8,000Due Mar 1, 2027Iowa high school graduates who spent time in Iowa foster care between ages 14 and 18, earned a diploma or associate degree, and graduated with at least a 2.3 GPA may apply for the Guardian Scholars Foundation scholarship. The foundation provides $8,000 per year plus partner-college support toward tuition, room, board, and textbooks, along with community mentoring. The number of recipients varies. Submit a complete application package including an essay, two recommendations, and a consent form. Students attending community college with a strong intention to transfer and earn a bachelor's degree are also considered. $2,000Annual: March 1Undergraduate students in the United States or Canada who have begun their junior year, are at least 18, and have not previously participated in archaeological fieldwork of any kind may apply. Students who have not yet completed their first year of graduate school are eligible. Archaeology and related majors are especially encouraged. The $2,000 award helps pay expenses for first-time participation in an archaeological field school with a minimum stay of four weeks. Selection considers both academic achievement and financial need. Apply through the Archaeological Institute of America.
