Undergraduate students in the United States or Canada who have begun their junior year, are at least 18, and have not previously participated in archaeological fieldwork of any kind may apply. Students who have not yet completed their first year of graduate school are eligible. Archaeology and related majors are especially encouraged.
The $2,000 award helps pay expenses for first-time participation in an archaeological field school with a minimum stay of four weeks.
Selection considers both academic achievement and financial need. Apply through the Archaeological Institute of America.

Women who are U.S. or Canadian citizens or permanent residents admitted to full-time graduate study in statistics by July 1 may apply for the American Statistical Association Gertrude M. Cox Scholarship. Two recipients are selected each year, one early-stage and one advanced graduate student, each receiving $1,000 and a certificate. Applications are due March 1 and require a personal essay of at least one double-spaced page covering program goals, career plans, and leadership or service experience. The scholarship was established in 1989 to encourage more women to enter statistically oriented professions.
Current or former wards of the court in Kent County, Michigan pursuing undergraduate college or vocational education may apply for the Donald J. DeYoung Scholarship through the Grand Rapids Community Foundation general application. Applicants must demonstrate financial need, hold at least a 2.5 GPA, and provide a letter of recommendation from a caseworker. Award amounts vary. Submit the GRCF general scholarship application by March 1.
