$5,000Due Jun 1, 2027To be considered for the Joe Francis Haircare Scholarship, an applicant must be currently applying for entrance into cosmetology/barber School, or be actively enrolled in a cosmetology/barber program. If you graduate from cosmetology or barber school between the dates of January 1st through August 31st of the current award year, you are not eligible. Esthetician or nail training students are also not eligible. All applicants are notified by email and/or postal mail of their status by the end of September. The scholarship amounts have varied, as do the number of recipients, and they are paid directly to the cosmetology school of student’s choice.

Applicants must complete an application form and submit it along with a written essay using critical thinking discussing this year’s topic. Along with the completed application and written essay, students must submit a current high school transcript and a letter of recommendation from a high school teacher or counselor. Students cannot be the child, stepchild, grandchild or step-grandchild, brother, stepbrother, sister or stepsister of a MAT director or staff member.
