Ethel Hayes Destigmatization of Mental Health Scholarship

Lawrenceburg High School graduates who complete 50 approved community service learning hours by graduation and meet program eligibility criteria may apply. Qualifying recipients receive $1,800 per year for up to four consecutive years of postsecondary education. The amount is set each year by Lawrenceburg City Council. Recipient count varies. Graduating seniors apply online and submit signed service learning report forms to the Dearborn Community Foundation office by 4 p.m. on June 7. The City of Lawrenceburg established this program in memory of Paul E. "Truck" Tremain to support LHS graduates who give back to their community.

U.S. citizens or permanent residents enrolled as undergraduates may submit an original student paper on a topic in the atmospheric sciences for the American Meteorological Society's Father James B. Macelwane Award. One winner receives a $1,000 award. No more than two students from any one institution may enter papers in a single contest cycle. Submit a PDF of the original paper, a 250-word abstract, a letter of application, a faculty letter confirming undergraduate status and original contributions, and the Student Assessment form.

Michigan residents admitted to an MDE-approved educator preparation program who are full-time juniors working toward teacher certification with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA may apply for the MI Future Educator Fellowship. The fellowship pays up to $10,000 per academic year toward tuition and required fees, with up to 2,500 awards granted annually. It is renewable up to three years ($30,000 lifetime maximum). Complete the fellowship application, file a FAFSA, and sign the Commitment to Teach in Michigan Agreement. Recipients agree to teach in Michigan upon certification. Apply by June 15 or year-round as funding allows.

High school seniors or current college students in Colorado pursuing animal-related majors may apply for the Cavalier Trail Riding Club's $1,000 one-time scholarship. Submit a resume or personal statement, two non-family recommendation letters, and transcripts via the club's online application or downloadable form by June 30. The award supports students committed to animal sciences and related fields.

Undergraduate students with exceptional financial need who have not earned a bachelor's or professional degree may receive a Federal Pell Grant. In some cases, students in postbaccalaureate teacher certification programs may also qualify. The maximum Pell Grant award is up to $7,395 for the 2026-27 award year. Your actual amount depends on your Student Aid Index, enrollment intensity, and cost of attendance. Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Unlike loans, Pell Grants generally do not require repayment except in limited circumstances.

LGBTQIA+ individuals who are actively involved in the LGBTQIA+ community, maintain a 3.0 GPA, and participate in collegiate bowling may apply for the IGBO Presidential Scholarship. Applicants must be enrolled at an accredited U.S. undergraduate, graduate, or trade-school program. One $1,000 award is given. Funds are distributed directly to the student. Complete the online application, submit a 250 to 300 word essay or a short video (up to two minutes), arrange for a recommendation letter from a mentor, coach, teacher, or team member, and upload an unofficial transcript and bowling league sheets or competition results. IGBO established this scholarship to support younger members of the LGBTQIA+ bowling community.
