About this scholarship
Michigan residents admitted to an MDE-approved educator preparation program who are full-time juniors working toward teacher certification with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA may apply for the MI Future Educator Fellowship. The fellowship pays up to $10,000 per academic year toward tuition and required fees, with up to 2,500 awards granted annually. It is renewable up to three years ($30,000 lifetime maximum).
Complete the fellowship application, file a FAFSA, and sign the Commitment to Teach in Michigan Agreement. Recipients agree to teach in Michigan upon certification. Apply by June 15 or year-round as funding allows.

- Be a high school graduate enrolled at least full-time
- Be working on first teacher certification and accepted into a Michigan-approved Educator Preparation Program (EPP)
- Earned at least 58 semester credits
- Cumulative GPA of at least 3.0
- Michigan resident since July 1 of the previous calendar year (parent too, if dependent)
- Complete the annual application in the MiSSG Student Portal
- Sign the annual Commitment to Teach in Michigan Agreement
- Recipients agree to teach in Michigan upon certification.
