Community Service Scholarships

Students with strong academics, meaningful community service, and financial need who plan to attend an accredited college, university, or vocational/technical school may apply for the Chick-fil-A Community Scholars program. At least thirteen recipients receive $25,000 scholarships annually for tuition, fees, books, and other education-related expenses. Recipients also participate in a one-year leadership and mentoring program. Submit a completed application with transcript, detailed answers about your achievements and service, and a recommender's recommendation before the deadline.

Dependents of a veteran, deceased veteran, or disabled veteran living or hospitalized in Illinois or the Chicago District (northwest Indiana, southwest Michigan, and southern Wisconsin) who intend to enroll in an accredited college or career training school may apply. Applicants need a minimum 2.0 GPA. The award is $5,000 per academic year and is renewable for up to four years. Graduating high school seniors in the Metro-Atlanta area involved in baseball may be nominated by any adult for the Britt Kearce Memorial Scholarship through Positive Athlete Georgia. Three one-time $3,000 awards are given each school year based on baseball involvement, academics, community service, and a coach recommendation. Nominees complete the application form, provide a letter of recommendation from a current or past baseball coach, and answer three application prompts in video or written form. Recipients are not required to play baseball in college. The scholarship celebrates Coach Britt Kearce's passion for baseball and his positive impact on players across Georgia.

Incoming Carroll University students of any major who plan to join the varsity esports team may apply for esports scholarships. Renewable awards range up to $2,500 per year for students who continue esports participation and remain in good standing. Selection considers academic performance, community service commitment, and financial need. The James B. Morris Scholarship Fund helps Iowa minority students learn, grow, and build professional careers while retaining diverse talent in Iowa communities.

Male students of African or African-American descent who are high school seniors or continuing college students, reside in Queens or Nassau County, New York, have at least a 3.0 GPA, and demonstrate community service and leadership may apply. Incoming freshmen and transfer students interested in Cleveland State University Vikings Esports may seek scholarship support tied to varsity competition in League of Legends, Rocket League, Valorant, Overwatch, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Selection considers academic performance, in-game skill, and commitment to the program, including community service. Award amounts vary and are discussed individually; amounts may increase over time with performance and participation. Submit a player profile through the CSU Esports recruit process, provide transcripts, demonstrate skill through tryouts or evaluation, and complete any interview or information session requested.

Award amounts vary. Scholarships are offered twice per year and may be reapplied for. Submit the online application with your most recent transcript, two letters of recommendation, a college acceptance letter, and a 400 to 500 word essay or a 3 to 4 minute video based on a provided prompt. High school seniors need a minimum 3.5 GPA.
