Tracy - Haney Nursing Endowment

Open to members of the Hospital Employees' Union (HEU), their children, and their spouses or partners, including common-law and same-sex partners, who demonstrate satisfactory academic standing and financial need. The $500 Prince George Local bursary is payable to your post-secondary institution upon enrollment and may be used at any accredited school. Submit an application clearly marked "Bursaries" to the HEU Bursary Committee.

Entering or returning full-time undergraduate varsity athletes at Trent University with strong academic achievement and demonstrated financial need may be considered. Awards are funded through the Ontario Tuition Support Strategy. Apply through the myTrent Finances portal during the entrance bursary window, with applications available from June and a deadline of July 31.

Canadian students furthering their education in an insurance claims related discipline may apply for this scholarship administered by the Canadian Independent Adjusters' Association. At least one award of $1,000 is granted annually. Download the application from the CIAA website and submit completed forms to the CIAA national office by July 31. Awards are announced at the CIAA Annual General Meeting.

A University of Prince Edward Island Master of Nursing student may receive this scholarship, with preference for the Nurse Practitioner stream. Full-time UPEI staff and full- or part-time UPEI faculty are not eligible. Maximum $2,600. The award may be renewable to the same student for a total of two years with evidence of continuance and satisfactory progress after the first year. Apply by July 31. At NAIT, for students entering the Bachelor of Technology in Technology Management program who have previously worked in the energy or construction industry for at least one year. Two awards of $2,500 are available. Selection is based equally on past academic achievement and demonstrated leadership or personal contributions in those industries, shown through an essay describing leadership and industry involvement such as volunteering, committee work, or new initiatives.

Atlantic Canada residents with paraplegia or quadriplegia who are involved in organized sport (as a participant, official, coach, manager, or trainer) may apply. Applicants must attend or plan to attend a post-secondary institution in the Atlantic provinces, hold at least a C average, and be Canadian citizens or landed immigrants. Three scholarships of $600 each. CPA Nova Scotia oversees the funding for Spinal Cord Injury Canada.
