Texas Broadcast Education Foundation Scholarships

The Texas Broadcast Education Foundation (TBEF), affiliated with the Texas Association of Broadcasters, annually awards roughly $29,000 in scholarships to outstanding students pursuing degrees in broadcast journalism or similar majors at Texas universities and colleges. Most TBEF scholarships are $3,000, and the top Arnold Scholarship is $5,000.

Applicants must be students at Texas colleges or universities preparing for careers in broadcast journalism, management, engineering, advertising, production or other fields within the broadcast industry.

Applications require essays and supporting documentation, including recommendation letters and a department-head certification. The application window runs each spring through the TBEF application portal; the 2026 cycle closed on April 17, and applications reopen the following February.
