About this scholarship
Pennsylvania residents who were placed in foster care by a child welfare agency at any point in their lives and are admitted to a program of study may apply through the First Community Foundation Partnership of Pennsylvania. Training may range from short vocational courses through college and graduate study.
Scholarships of about $1,000 are paid directly to the institution of higher education. Awards are made on a rolling, first-come basis until annual funds are committed. Past recipients may reapply with a new application.
Submit a completed application, resume, career-goals essay, one letter of recommendation, a confirmed financial aid package, a letter from the agency that supervised your foster care, and a current photo. The fund was created in memory of Taylor J. Ertel.
