About this scholarship
The Organization of Latino Actuaries awards academic scholarships to Latino students who will attend a U.S. college or university in the next school year and are interested in the actuarial profession. The top applicant receives the OLA Cresta Scholarship of $7,500; named scholarship winners who complete a summer internship with a sponsoring company receive $5,000, and general winners receive up to $4,000, paid directly to the recipient's school.
Applicants must identify as Latino, be enrolled or planning to enroll in a U.S. college or university for the upcoming academic year (high school seniors are eligible; graduating college seniors qualify only if continuing into another program), and demonstrate commitment to an actuarial career. Applications are evaluated on academics, actuarial exam progress, work experience, and leadership.
Applications open January 1 and close March 31 each year, with winners notified around July.
