About this scholarship

The North Carolina Hispanic College Fund, a charitable fund at the Triangle Community Foundation administered by the North Carolina Society of Hispanic Professionals, awards annual scholarships of $1,000 to $2,000 to help Hispanic students in North Carolina pay for college.

Recipients must be of Hispanic/Latino descent and be graduates of a North Carolina high school, either graduating this year or within the last two years. Students must enroll in a degree program at a community college or a two-year or four-year university, hold a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better, and be committed to public service and community development. Preference goes to foreign-born applicants or native-born children of foreign-born parents; selection weighs economic need, community involvement, academics, volunteerism, and leadership.

Applicants submit two recommendation letters from a teacher, principal, pastor, employer, or community leader. Applications close April 30 each year.
