Vermont Creation Grants

Vermont resident artists and artist groups, including both established and emerging artists, may apply for competitive creation funding. Individual artists and groups create new work in any discipline through panel-reviewed proposals.

Standard awards are $5,000 flat grants, with a $10,000 option for select performing arts groups in dance, theater, or multidisciplinary work. Funds may compensate artist time, materials, equipment rental, or space for the creation process during the September through August grant period.

Applications are due April 5 at 11:59 p.m. through the SlideRoom grant portal. FY27 closed April 5, 2026; FY28 reopens in 2027. Funding notification arrives in late August.

Vermont Arts Council is the state arts agency, with Creation Grants supported by the Vermont Community Foundation Arts Endowment Fund and private donors.
