About this scholarship
Vermont high school seniors who self-identify as 2SLGBTQIA+ and are committed to positive change for LGBTQ+ communities may apply through VSAC. Applicants must be Vermont residents and U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizens per VSAC rules, planning enrollment at a four-year college, career/technical college, or vocational program in the U.S. or Canada. Priority goes to BIPOC, low-income students, and those who faced education barriers related to gender or sexuality.
Up to $5,000 per student; VSAC estimates roughly 15 awards from ~129 applicants annually.
Apply via the VSAC Unified Scholarship Application (MyVSAC) with FAFSA, general essay, Samara-specific essay (500+ words on identity and community support), and two recommendation letters including a Samara-focused letter. Deadline February 11 each year.
