Mississippi Artist Fellowship

Professional Mississippi artists demonstrating high artistic quality may apply for merit-based fellowships of up to $5,000. Disciplines rotate annually; FY27 categories include fiction and poetry.

Fellowships are unrestricted awards of merit with no cash match required. Recipients may reapply after five years and may also hold an Artist Mini-Grant in the same fiscal year.

Applications open February 1 and close March 1 at 11:59 p.m. through MAC E-Grant. Blind panel review uses work samples, artist statement, and impact statement without applicant names.

The Mississippi Arts Commission administers these fellowships to honor exemplary work by resident artists.
