About this scholarship

Individual artists 18 and older who are Washington State residents at application and payment may apply. Current undergraduate or graduate students, recent GAP recipients (2021-2025), and applicants representing organizations are ineligible.

The program awards 65 unrestricted project grants of $2,500 each cycle for work in any discipline. Funds may cover artist fees, materials, equipment, travel for research, documentation, professional development, and other project costs.

Applications open in May and close June 22 via Submittable. Required materials include work samples (up to 10), a project statement, biography, and progress statement. Panel review runs July through September with October payment.

Artist Trust is a Washington nonprofit that has supported individual artists statewide since 1986 through grants, resources, and advocacy.
