Minority Teacher Education Scholarship

Florida residents who are African American, Hispanic or Latino, Asian American or Pacific Islander, or American Indian or Alaskan Native and enrolled as juniors, seniors, or graduate students in a state-approved teacher education program at a participating FFMT institution may apply.

Awards are $4,000 per year ($2,000 per semester). Recipients must teach one year in a Florida public school for each year of funding received.

Apply through the Florida Fund for Minority Teachers. Special consideration is given to state and community college graduates. The program has supported minority teacher recruitment in Florida for over 20 years.
