About this scholarship
Full-time second-year or higher undergraduate or graduate business students who will study abroad through an accredited college or university may apply. Applicants must be residents of Kent, Allegan, Ottawa, or Muskegon County for at least three years, or resident students at a West Michigan college for at least two years, with financial need and a minimum 3.0 GPA.
Awards are up to $2,000 to support study abroad costs.
This fund uses a separate GRCF application (not the general March 1 application). Completed applications are due April 1.

- Statement of goals explaining the desire to study abroad or participate in an international program (maximum two double-spaced typewritten pages)
- Two letters of reference: one from a college teacher, counselor, or administrator and one from an elected public official in Kent, Ottawa, or Muskegon County
- Acceptance letter from the college or university international-study office
- Most recent transcript
- Financial Need Section
- Statement of Goals essay capped by PAGE limit, not word limit: "not to exceed two double-spaced, typewritten pages" (≈500 words at ~250 words/double-spaced page)
- Two letters of reference: (1) from a teacher, counselor or administrator of the college/university; (2) from an elected public official in Kent, Ottawa or Muskegon Counties
- Copy of acceptance letter from the college/university office of international study
- Most recent available transcript (unofficial acceptable)
- Financial Need Section (required for completeness; income/dependency info)
- List of organizations/business club memberships and awards/honors received since entering college
- Submit application and supporting documents via email to scholarships@grfoundation.org by March 1
- Separate GRCF application; award supports study-abroad costs.
- List organizations/business-club memberships and awards or honors since entering college.
