Gates Cambridge Scholarship

Outstanding applicants from countries outside the UK, including U.S. citizens resident in the United States, may apply for a fully funded postgraduate degree at the University of Cambridge in any subject. Roughly 80 scholarships are awarded annually across PhD and one-year master's programs.

The award covers the full cost of study at Cambridge, including the university composition fee, a maintenance allowance (£22,050 for 12 months at the 2025-26 rate), economy airfare, and inbound visa and health surcharge costs.

U.S. citizens resident in the USA must apply in the October 2026 round with all documents submitted by the date announced when applications reopen in September 2026. Applications for 2026/7 entry are closed.
