Scholarships at University of Saskatchewan

University of Saskatchewan undergraduate students entering third year in chemical, mechanical, or geological engineering with an interest in metallurgy and mineral processing may receive $5,000. Two awards are offered, with preference for chemical engineering students. The award recognizes academic achievement in engineering related to the mining industry. Submit a letter outlining mining-industry interest and work experience by October 1.

University of Saskatchewan College of Arts and Science students in a three- or four-year Bachelor of Arts program who are enrolled in, have taken, or intend to take an honours course in economics, philosophy, or psychology may apply for the Hannon Scholarships (Theology). Applicants must submit a statement of intent to study theology at a bible college or seminary after graduation, plus a statement on university and community involvement and character. Awards are $3,000; the number offered varies. Selection considers academic achievement, involvement, and character. Apply through the PAWS Scholarships and Bursaries Channel by October 15. The scholarships were established by the late Judge J.W. Hannon in memory of his father, the Rev. James Hannon, D.D.

Full-time, fully qualified graduate students engaged in cancer research at the University of Saskatchewan. Applicants need a minimum GPA of 80% in the last two completed years of study. Award of up to $2,000. Application requires a one-page research proposal and a supervisor reference.

University of Saskatchewan undergraduate students continuing in the College of Education may apply for this bursary. Preference goes to graduates of Neilburg Composite School; if no worthy Neilburg candidate, the award may go to a graduate of any Northwest School Division high school. Selection is based on demonstrated financial need. The bursary is valued at $550. One award is available. Apply through PAWS.

Graduate students in the Department of Continuing Education at the University of Saskatchewan in any year of study may qualify for this award. Preference is given to part-time students. One annual award of $300 is granted. The award is tenable only at the University of Saskatchewan. Apply through the College of Education awards process by the posted deadline.

University of Saskatchewan College of Agriculture and Bioresources students entering or continuing in a Master's or Doctoral program who have demonstrated an interest in sustainable agriculture may be considered for the Agro Class of '43 60th Anniversary Award. The award amount varies. Interest in sustainable agriculture is determined by the Award Committee. Apply through the college graduate awards process. The award was established by donations from the Class of 1943.
