Saskatchewan Drama Design letter of intent
The Drama Design direct-entry packet asks applicants to explain their interest in theatre design, discuss a theatre work that influenced them, and describe a passion outside theatre. What to prepare
- 1Explain a scenic, lighting, costume, or technical theatre problem you want to learn to solve, grounding the answer in work you have seen or made.
- 2Discuss one theatre production that affected how you think about design, identifying the design choice rather than summarizing the story.
- 3Use the third response to reveal a real interest beyond theatre; document visual and theatre experience separately in the résumé.
How to approach the writing
- Keep all three responses inside the packet's two-page maximum and let the portfolio show the visual evidence behind your design interests.
- Prepare 8–10 portfolio works for review and check how the department wants digital or physical work presented at the interview.
