Waterloo Admission Information Form
Waterloo's AIF is required for Engineering, Mathematics, and Computing and Financial Management, while several other programs use different supplementary forms. The AIF can also inform scholarship decisions in some programs.

What to prepare
- 1Explain interests and experiences relevant to the program you actually selected.
- 2For Engineering, show time management, teamwork, or leadership through concrete work, volunteering, or other responsibilities.
- 3For Mathematics, prepare the AIF and the separate supplementary form, including relevant contest information where applicable.
How to approach the writing
- Waterloo does not require engineering-related extracurriculars. Describe what you did and learned rather than inventing a technical project.
- Separate the written AIF from the online interview and program-specific forms in your checklist.
Before you submit
Engineering applicants also need a video interview, and Software Engineering has an extra form. Waterloo lists different 2027 deadlines by program.
