Ivey AEO activity essays
Ivey's Advanced Entry Opportunity is conditional pre-admission status for future HBA study after two years at Western or an affiliate. Its separate application focuses on leadership experiences.
Writing format
Two activity essays of up to 500 words each plus a video interview
What to prepare
- 1Choose two distinct activities and write an essay of no more than 500 words about each.
- 2Describe your own actions, the setting, and the outcome so an admissions reader can assess leadership and commitment.
- 3Prepare concise point-form descriptions of up to five additional eligible activities and a verifiable reference for every activity.
How to approach the writing
- Use different examples to show the breadth and depth of your involvement, rather than repeating one role.
- Explain decisions you made and how you worked with others, not just the title you held.
Before you submit
AEO requires a separate application in addition to admission to Western or an affiliate. Ivey also requires a five-question Kira video interview; verify the current deadline and reference details.
