USask mature admission written request
USask considers special mature admission for first-year applicants age 21 or older who do not qualify for regular admission and have fewer than 18 university-level credit units. The written request is submitted only if Admissions invites the applicant after reviewing a standard application; each college considered needs its own supporting package.

What to prepare
- 1Name the college you want to enter and explain why its course of study fits your education and career goals.
- 2Describe the work, personal, or learning experience that led you to return to school now.
- 3Use specific evidence of study skills and preparation to show that you can undertake university-level work.
How to approach the writing
- Let the résumé record dates and activities; use the letter to explain what those experiences taught you.
- Check prerequisite subjects for the chosen college before drafting, because mature admission does not waive them.
Before you submit
Apply through the standard process first and wait for Admissions to request the special package. USask does not publish a universal letter length on this page. Confirm the college-specific documents, deadlines and any interview requirement in your invitation.
