Scholarships at University of Alberta

High-achieving students applying for University of Alberta undergraduate entrance with admission averages of 95% or higher may be assessed for this prestigious entrance scholarship. Up to 60 recipients receive awards of up to $50,000 each among the university's most competitive entrance awards. Apply through Awards Hub with an outstanding application when the competition opens. Selection recognizes top academic achievement at admission.

High school students entering an undergraduate Agricultural, Life and Environmental Sciences program at the University of Alberta with an admission average of roughly 95% or above may apply for a Dean's Entrance Citation in Agricultural, Life and Environmental Sciences through the faculty entrance scholarship application. The citation is $2,500. Renewal in years two through four requires a minimum 3.5 GPA on at least 24 credits in ALES each academic year.

University of Alberta students in the four-year BSc Nursing program with superior academic achievement and financial need may apply. Preference is given to students who completed high school in the County of Grande Prairie. Two in-course awards of $2,000 each are offered annually. Apply through the central undergraduate awards portal (BearTracks).

Final-year University of Alberta students in the Faculty of Agricultural, Life and Environmental Sciences who are majoring in Animal Science may receive this $1,000 scholarship. Selection favors demonstrated interest in livestock and poultry nutrition. Apply through the university's AcademicWorks portal by March 31 with a letter outlining your interest and future plans, plus reference letters from a previous employer and a faculty member.

University of Alberta students with satisfactory academic standing who are entering the Environmental and Conservation Sciences Field School (RENR 299) in the Faculty of Agricultural, Life and Environmental Sciences may be considered for the Chelsy Shillington Memorial Field School Bursary. Recipients are selected on demonstrated financial need. The bursary provides $1,000. Apply through the U of A Awards Hub.

University of Alberta undergraduates in any year with superior academic achievement may receive the Ulean and Eudoxia Kushnirevs'ka-Tkachenko Prize in Russian based on excellence in senior-level Russian coursework, specifically the highest average in the course. Two prizes of $800 are available. Department nomination; no separate student application is required. The prize was endowed by Helen Tkachenko.

Open to a University of Alberta student entering the third year of Specialization or Honours Geology, awarded on superior academic achievement. One scholarship of $750 is available annually. Apply by nomination from the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences.

University of Alberta Alberta School of Business students with superior academic standing entering second, third, or fourth year (fifth year for co-op students) are eligible. Recipients are selected on academic standing, with preference for demonstrated financial need. One award of $750. Apply through University of Alberta undergraduate awards. Endowed by the Thistlethwaite family and friends of the late Susie Thistlethwaite (BCom 1996).

University of Alberta undergraduates enrolled in a four-year degree program in the Department of Sociology may receive the Soren Bovbjerg Memorial Scholarship.
