Scholarships at Carleton University

Carleton University outstanding undergraduate female Philosophy majors who have made a positive contribution to university life, demonstrate financial need, are Canadian citizens or permanent residents (including landed immigrants or protected persons), and meet OSAP Ontario residency requirements. One annual bursary of $5,000, awarded on the recommendation of the Chair of the Department of Philosophy. Apply via the department form with a financial-need upload by November 30. Endowed in 2010 in memory of Phyllis Mary Putt through the estate of her husband Cyril Harold Putt.

Two awards at Carleton University's Department of History, made annually when merited on the recommendation of the Chair, for outstanding essay writing. One goes to the student(s) writing the best essay on freedom of the press and/or the right of access to this medium by individuals and organizations. The other goes to the student(s) writing the best essay on Canadian foreign policy. Preference may be given to work on issues related to government, media, and Canadian foreign policy. At least one award is given in each category. The award amount varies. Faculty nominations are accepted at the end of winter term; students may discuss suitability of an essay with a faculty member.

Carleton University students in the Arthur Kroeger College Bachelor of Public Affairs and Policy Management (BPAPM) program who demonstrate financial need may apply. One or more bursaries are available; the amount varies. Apply through Carleton's online bursary application by October 31.
