Greek Life Scholarships

U.S. or Puerto Rico residents ages 17 to 24 who lost a parent or legal guardian and plan to attend college, university, or trade school may apply for the Life Happens Life Lessons Scholarship. Award amounts vary, including tiered prizes with a $15,000 grand prize. Submit a 500-word essay or three-minute video on how the death affected you financially and emotionally, including your college plans and any impact of life insurance. Applications are accepted February 1 through March 1. Life Happens provides financial assistance to students facing hardship after the loss of a parent or guardian.

Full-time or part-time students at accredited U.S. four-year colleges or universities, any major. One $1,000 award. Submit the application form, transcripts, and a maximum three-minute video explaining what makes you unique through the sponsor application form on the Abacus Life Settlements site.

The Knight for Life Award is a $2,000 grant automatically awarded to incoming first-year undergraduates who apply to Calvin University and are admitted. It is one component of the Knight Promise financial aid guarantee alongside academic scholarships and other initiative grants. There is no separate application beyond completing the Calvin admission process. The award renews automatically for up to five years of undergraduate study while you maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress at Calvin University.

Students enrolled in or applying to a healthcare or education degree program at an accredited U.S. university may apply. Applicants must be at least 18 and provide their GPA. Two $1,500 awards are granted each year, one in spring and one in fall. Submit a 750 to 1,000 word essay by email to scholarship@onlinecprcertification.net. The American Academy of CPR and First Aid sponsors this award to support future educators and healthcare professionals.

Woonsocket, Rhode Island residents who are beginning college may apply for scholarships from Firm Foundation Christian Church. Applicants should demonstrate involvement in community, school, and church activities. Three recipients each receive $1,000 annually. Funds are disbursed directly to the recipient's chosen college. Complete the application with personal and academic information, provide one academic reference and one Christian reference (such as a church leader or teacher), and submit a 200-word-or-fewer essay on the provided prompt. The top five candidates are interviewed briefly, and three recipients are selected. Email the completed application by April 15.

Single mothers pursuing a human-resources-related bachelor's degree who demonstrate financial need and have at least one dependent child under 14 may apply. One recipient receives $20,000 per year for tuition and childcare for up to four years, with the first two years at community college followed by transfer to a four-year school. The award also includes a paid flexible internship, a Melita Group mentor, and consideration for full-time employment after graduation. Submit a 700-word essay and proof of income with your application.

Florida high school seniors graduating in spring from public, private, virtual, or home education programs who demonstrate excellence in creative writing, dance, drama, music, or visual art may apply. Thirty-five awards of $2,000 each are granted annually, with top-scoring students selected in each discipline. Submit work samples and application materials during the fall-to-winter application window. Launched by former First Lady Columba Bush in 1999, Arts for Life! has supported more than 575 gifted Florida seniors.
