About this scholarship
Florida high school seniors graduating in spring from public, private, virtual, or home education programs who demonstrate excellence in creative writing, dance, drama, music, or visual art may apply.
Thirty-five awards of $2,000 each are granted annually, with top-scoring students selected in each discipline.
Submit work samples and application materials during the fall-to-winter application window. Launched by former First Lady Columba Bush in 1999, Arts for Life! has supported more than 575 gifted Florida seniors.

- 500-word essay: How the arts have positively influenced my life
- Portfolio of work in one of five disciplines (creative writing, dance, drama, music, or visual arts) meeting discipline-specific parameters; content must be original and current (less than one year ol
- Visual art (non-film): five (5) digital JPEG images of original artwork from the current school year
- Filmmaking: three (3) videos/films, each 3-5 minutes long
- Music/Dance/Drama: two contrasting pieces, combined max 5 minutes; solo performances only
