Scholarships at University of Calgary

Domestic students (Canadian citizens or permanent residents) in the first year of a University of Calgary doctoral program, including those transferring directly from a master's program, may receive this recruitment scholarship. It is valued at $17,000 per year for four years and is offered alongside admission. Students cannot apply directly; they must be nominated by their graduate program before the program start date.

University of Calgary JD students in the Faculty of Law may be nominated for this award, given annually to the student demonstrating the most understanding and ability in Evidence. In a tie, superior verbal skills and commitment to community and volunteer service are considered. One award of up to $5,000 is available. For a continuing University of Calgary Haskayne School of Business undergraduate with a concentration in Entrepreneurship and Innovation entering second, third, or fourth year. Selection is based on academic merit. Students of any citizenship or residency may be considered. One scholarship of $5,000 is offered annually. Apply through the My UCalgary Portal Continuing Undergraduate Awards competition. Established by Alaris Equity Partners to support undergraduate education and recognize leadership and academic ability among Bachelor of Commerce students.

Continuing third- or fourth-year undergraduates in the University of Calgary Bachelor of Community Rehabilitation and Disability Studies program in the Cumming School of Medicine may be considered. Selection recognizes academic merit and demonstrated excellence in practicums with children with disabilities. One scholarship of up to $3,500 is offered annually. Students are considered through the Undergraduate Nominated awards process for continuing students. Amelia Kiddle and Jonathan Jucker established the scholarship to celebrate Albert's life and to honour developmental aides, including former CRDS students, who worked with Albert and his family.

Undergraduate students entering first year in the MD program at the University of Calgary Cumming School of Medicine with demonstrated financial need may apply. One bursary of up to $3,000 is available. Apply through the My UCalgary Portal under Cumming School of Medicine Awards.

University of Calgary Faculty of Law JD students in second or third year may be considered for outstanding performance in LAW 697 (Corporate Tax). Open to any citizenship or residency status. One prize of $3,000 is offered annually. This is a Law nominated award for new and continuing students. Donated by the Canadian Petroleum Tax Society.

Continuing University of Calgary undergraduates in the Schulich School of Engineering (entering second, third, or fourth year) may be considered. Selection is based on academic merit and financial need. Open to any citizenship or residency status. One bursary of up to $2,000 is offered annually. Apply through the My UCalgary Portal for Continuing Undergraduate Awards. Donated by Schulich School of Engineering Alumni (Class of 1986).

Continuing University of Calgary undergraduates entering third or fourth year in the Cumming School of Medicine Bachelor of Health Sciences program may be considered. Citizenship is open. One scholarship of up to $2,000 is offered annually for academic merit, to support the advancement of cancer research. This is an undergraduate nominated award for continuing students. Continuing University of Calgary undergraduates entering final year in the Faculty of Arts, majoring in Political Science with a focus on Canadian politics, may be considered. Citizenship is open. One scholarship of up to $1,600 is offered annually for academic merit. This is an undergraduate nominated award for continuing students. Supported by Nova Chemicals, Inc., the Varsity Conservative Party Riding Association, and a matching allocation from the Faculty of Social Sciences, in recognition of Murray Smith's service as MLA for Calgary-Varsity and his support for University of Calgary initiatives.

Second- or third-year JD students in the University of Calgary Faculty of Law who are involved with the Student Legal Assistance program are eligible. Selection requires satisfactory academic standing (minimum GPA of 2.60), with preference for students who also demonstrate involvement in the student law community or law-related volunteerism beyond SLA.
