UCalgary Prestige Awards essays
Fall 2027 high-school applicants must submit an admission application before the Prestige Awards application appears in Student Centre. UCalgary says the award application requires essay questions, but does not publish their wording in its FAQ. The Prestige deadline is December 1, 2026; automatic admission scholarships and the later High School Awards and Bursaries application are different routes.

What to prepare
- 1Gather the official names and dates of volunteer and extracurricular activities, plus someone who can verify each one.
- 2Once Student Centre shows the actual questions, draft each answer offline and address its wording directly.
- 3For an experience you choose, explain your own contribution, what you learned, and its effect on others rather than only listing duties.
How to approach the writing
- Leave time after submitting the admission form: UCalgary says the award application can take 24 hours to appear.
- Choose experiences that reveal sustained personal motivation and give a specific example of impact.
Before you submit
Check the live Student Centre form for the actual questions, limits, and eligibility. Submit Prestige by December 1, 2026; UCalgary says extensions are unavailable. High School Awards and Bursaries have a separate March 1, 2027 deadline.
