Architecture Scholarships

US citizens enrolled in a graduate program in architectural acoustics or noise control at any qualifying university may apply. ASA membership is not required to apply; recipients receive a complimentary one-year membership. One $30,000 scholarship is awarded annually. The 2026 recipient is Cecilia W. Ochoa. Applications are due in late March each cycle with three reference letters, including one from the graduate advisor and at least one from an ASA Fellow or full member. Leo and Gabriella Beranek endowed this ASA scholarship to support graduate research in architectural acoustics and noise control.

Graduate fellows in architecture, art, dance, landscape architecture, music, theatre, or urban and regional planning at UIUC or equivalent institutions may apply for the Kate Neal Kinley Memorial Fellowship. Preference goes to applicants under age 25. Up to six fellowships are awarded: one up to $20,000 and two under $20,000 as major awards, plus up to three smaller awards. Fellowships support travel and advanced study expenses, not tuition. Submit the application with all required supplementary materials as outlined on the UIUC website. Recipients may not work as UIUC faculty while receiving the award. Founded in 1931, this fellowship honors Kate Neal Kinley, an influential music and arts student at the University of Illinois.

AAUW Selected Professions Fellowships provide $20,000 to women pursuing their first full-time master's or professional degree in fields where women's participation has historically been low, including all major engineering disciplines, computer and information sciences, mathematics and statistics, the natural and physical sciences, architecture, and medicine. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents, must not already hold a master's or professional degree, and must be enrolled full-time in an eligible program at an accredited U.S. institution for the entire fellowship year. Selection weighs academic excellence, well-defined STEM career goals, and commitment to supporting women and girls; preference goes to applicants who have overcome adversity or are first-generation graduates. Applications for the next cycle open January 5, 2027 and close February 18, 2027, with awards notified in April 2027.

Senior fellows who hold a terminal degree and a distinguished record of accomplishment may apply for Charles E. Peterson research grants through the Athenaeum of Philadelphia. Research may address pre-1860 American architecture and building technology without geographic restriction, though preference is given to Delaware Valley topics. Grants generally do not exceed $15,000 and may not be used for international travel. Applications are accepted January 1 through March 1 and are reviewed by a committee of architects, architectural historians, and educators appointed by the Athenaeum board. Submit materials as a single PDF as directed by the Athenaeum.

The Castagna Architectural Scholarship provides multiple fifteen thousand dollar awards to Cal Poly undergraduates or architectural graduate students in architecture or architectural engineering who have completed their first full year in the major in good standing. Preference goes to applicants with low income as determined by the FAFSA, a faculty recommendation attesting to commitment and potential, and a personal statement on background, goals, and how the scholarship will support their career. Apply through the Cal Poly Scholarship application in the My Cal Poly Portal when it opens in early March.

Undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in facility management or closely related programs (including construction management, architecture, engineering, hospitality, business, interior design, environmental studies, or real estate) with a minimum 3.2 GPA in FM coursework may apply for IFMA Foundation academic scholarships. Award amounts vary, with scholarships ranging from $1,500 to $10,000. Thirty awards are available. Each scholarship includes fully subsidized attendance at the IFMA World Workplace Conference, and recipients must participate in IFMA Foundation activities there. Working students and veterans are encouraged to apply. Complete the IFMA Foundation scholarship application with required academic documentation before the deadline.

U.S. citizen college sophomores, juniors, and seniors enrolled full time in fall who demonstrate financial need and are pursuing degrees in civil, mechanical, electrical, architectural, structural, or related engineering fields may apply for IMEG engineering scholarships. Awards are up to $10,000 for underrepresented students with strong potential. Submit two recommendation letters and an unofficial transcript. Applicants must not be employed at IMEG or related to an IMEG employee. IMEG, a 100% employee-owned firm, supports the next generation of engineering innovators.

Undergraduate students of African American descent enrolled in a CIDA-, NASAD-, or NAAB-accredited interior design or architecture program at a U.S. not-for-profit institution may apply for the IIDA Foundation John J. Nelson Sr. Legacy Scholarship. Up to two recipients receive up to $10,000 each plus travel to Chicago for in-person recognition. Submit a 3 to 5 minute video describing how design has impacted your life and how you will use your career to benefit clients and community. John J. Nelson Sr. established this fund with the IIDA Foundation in 2019 to champion diversity and access in design education.

Students worldwide pursuing bachelor's or technical/vocational degrees in science, technology, engineering, arts/architecture, or mathematics (STEAM) who demonstrate leadership and community impact may apply. Scholarships range from $1,500 to $10,000 based on articulated need, with awards up to $10,000 available. Stantec distributes $200,000 in scholarships annually and offers up to 10 paid internships. Complete the online application with documentation highlighting leadership, resilience, and impact in your field or community. Indicate internship interest if applicable.

The ACI Foundation offers about 50 awards each year to high-potential students in concrete-related degree programs: scholarships carry a $5,000 educational stipend for tuition, residence, books, and materials, while fellowships carry a $10,000 stipend plus paid travel to two ACI Concrete Conventions. Eligible fields include civil and structural engineering, construction management, architecture, and materials. Applicants must be full-time students enrolled in a concrete-related degree program during the award year and proficient in English. Fellowship applicants must attend an accredited institution in the United States or Canada. Applications require a resume, a 500-word essay on interest in a concrete industry career, official transcripts, and two endorsements, one from an ACI member. Applications for the 2027–2028 academic year are open now and close November 1, 2026. Fellowship finalists interview at the spring ACI Convention.
