About this scholarship

Full-time undergraduate or graduate students in at least their third year, or the two-year-program equivalent, pursuing nuclear or radwaste-related degrees who have not previously received a Roy G. Post award may apply.

Undergraduates receive $5,000 and graduate students receive up to $7,500, plus WM Symposia conference registration, hotel accommodations, and travel reimbursement.

Recipients must attend the full March WM conference, present a scholar poster, and submit an abstract and two reference letters through the WM Symposia account portal.

The Roy G. Post Foundation honors the founding chief executive of WM Symposia and supports students building careers in the safe management of nuclear materials.

  • 200-word essay on pursuing a career in radioactive waste management, environmental remediation, or nuclear energy industries.
  • Abstract.
  • Two reference letters.
  • Full-time enrollment (minimum 15 credit hours per semester)
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • U.S. citizenship
  • Completion of FAFSA
  • Pursuing a degree in environmental science, pre-engineering, engineering, biology, or chemistry within the College of Science and Engineering
  • Recipients must attend the full March WM conference.
  • Recipients must present a scholar poster.
  • Source fields conflict: supplemental requirements describe a distinct Idaho State University award with different fields, FAFSA, GPA, citizenship, and credit-hour conditions; these are not applied as eligibility for the Roy G. Post Foundation scholarship.
