About this scholarship

Undergraduate students at two-year or four-year U.S. institutions pursuing a nuclear energy-related degree or technical training may apply for scholarships under the U.S. Department of Energy's Nuclear Energy University Program (NEUP) / University Nuclear Leadership Program. Applicants may apply even if their institution is not yet UNLP-approved; the school must become approved before funds transfer.

Trade school and community college scholarships provide $5,000 for nuclear energy-related technician training. Four-year undergraduate scholarships provide $10,000 for nuclear energy-related degrees. Awards support tuition and academic-year expenses.

DOE's Office of Nuclear Energy created NEUP in 2009 to consolidate university support for nuclear energy research, equipment upgrades, and student educational support.
