About this scholarship

Economically disadvantaged women from or attending school in the Mid-Atlantic region (DE, MD, VA, WV, PA, NJ, NY, or DC) who are pursuing healthcare careers may apply for the Dr. Omega Logan Silva Scholarship.

One recipient receives $5,000. Applicants need a minimum 3.0 GPA, significant school and community involvement, and plans to work in the Mid-Atlantic after completing their program.

Submit a completed application, transcript, activity sheet, two non-relative recommendations, and a 250- to 500-word essay on how a healthcare degree will make a difference in your life. Finalists are interviewed.

  • Finalists must complete an in-person interview with the selection committee
  • Submitted by mail or email (subject 'Scholarship') by the stated deadline (Jan 6, 2025 for the 2025 cycle)
