About this scholarship
Full-time graduate or doctoral students in accredited programs who can complete medical and security clearance may apply for the CIA Stokes Graduate Scholarship Program.
Awards provide up to $25,000 per academic year toward tuition, mandatory fees, and books, plus paid summer work tours in the Washington, D.C. area and a post-graduation service obligation. Participants complete at least one 12-week tour before graduating.

- Demonstrated financial need: adjusted gross household income (AGI) ceiling up to $120,000 (up to $50,000 if not claimed as a dependent in the prior tax year)
- Minimum GPA 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- Full-time enrollment in a graduate program (min. 9 credit hours)
- U.S. citizenship and ability to pass a background investigation
- Sign a Continued Service Agreement (work at CIA 1.5 years for every year in the program)
- Submit an expression of interest when CIA application windows are announced.
- Participants must complete at least one 12-week paid summer work tour before graduating.
- Recipients must sign a Continued Service Agreement to work at CIA for 1.5 years for each year in the program.
