About this scholarship
The Buckfire & Buckfire, P.C. Disability Scholarship was established in 2014 to help students with disabilities pay for college. It is open to U.S. citizens of any age with any type of disability, including physical, medical, mental or psychiatric, speech and language, learning, and behavioral conditions, who are enrolled at an accredited U.S. college or university and have completed at least one semester of classes.
The scholarship awards $1,000 to one student each year, selected by the law firm's scholarship committee.
Applicants submit the online application form, a one-page typed essay on overcoming adversity caused by their disability, an official or unofficial transcript including their most recent semester, and diagnosis documentation from a person qualified to make a diagnosis. Applications for the 2026 award are open now and due October 1, 2026.
