Nutrition Scholarships

Health Science Human Services (HSHS) scholarships at the College of Southern Idaho support students enrolled in clinical and emergency health programs such as nursing, dental hygiene, EMT, paramedic, radiologic technology, surgical technology, and related fields. Awards are funded by community endowments and may appear under donor names rather than the HSHS label in MyCSI financial aid offers. Students apply through the dedicated HSHS scholarship link in MyCSI Self-Service and may reapply each semester because deadlines vary by program cycle. CSI directs health program applicants to this portal in addition to the general scholarship application.

The Future Food Scholarship Program invites U.S. high school seniors and transfer students who have applied, been accepted, or deposited at Johnson & Wales University in select culinary, baking, and food-related programs to submit an original recipe through the JWU admissions portal. JWU faculty and guest judges score submissions; fifth through ninth place winners receive $1,000 scholarships renewable for four years, second through fourth place finalists invited to campus receive $5,000 per year renewable awards, and the first-place winner receives full tuition to JWU. For the 2025–26 cycle, recipe submissions are due by February 1, 2026.

First Nations Development Institute awards 20 to 25 scholarships of $1,000 to $1,500 each year to Native American, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian college students majoring in agriculture and agriculture-related fields, including agribusiness, agronomy, animal husbandry, environmental studies, fisheries and wildlife, food science, horticulture, and sustainable food systems. Applicants must be full-time or part-time undergraduate or graduate students majoring in an agriculture-related field or able to show how their degree relates to Native food systems, be tribally affiliated with documentation, hold at least a 2.75 GPA, and demonstrate a commitment to helping their community reclaim local food-system control. The online application for the 2026-2027 school year opened May 19, 2026 and closed June 16, 2026 at 5 p.m. Mountain Time; the scholarship runs annually.

The Health and Human Services Rapid Entry Certificate Scholarship assists Lansing Community College students enrolled in stackable health certificate programs that are ineligible for federal financial aid, including EMT, EKG technician, nurse aide, massage therapy, medical billing and coding, pharmacy technician, phlebotomy, and sterile processing pathways. The award covers fifty percent of in-district tuition and fees up to fifteen billing hours or one thousand dollars per award year, whichever comes first. Apply within two weeks after each semester start using the Rapid Entry Scholarship Application. Renewal requires a 2.5 or higher GPA.
