The Ruud Scholarship continues Carthage College's Presidential Scholarship Program tradition of recognizing academic and leadership excellence, offered through the generosity of Susan Young and Alan Ruud. Three Ruud Scholars are chosen from each incoming freshman class via the Presidential Scholarship Program, with awards from $33,000 per year to full tuition renewable over four years. Complete the admission application, Presidential Scholarship Program application, activity list, and 250-word essay by December 3. Invited finalists attend a hybrid second-round event in January or February and receive a $2,000 grant toward tuition for participating.

The John M. Hay Scholarship honors President Lincoln's private secretary and secretary of state for presidents McKinley and Roosevelt within Carthage College's Presidential Scholarship Program. Six Hay Scholars are offered to incoming freshmen each year, with awards ranging from $33,000 per year to full tuition and renewing for four years. Apply for Carthage admission and submit the Presidential Scholarship Program application, high school activity list, and 250-word essay by December 3. Qualified applicants are notified in late December and invited to a second-round event with faculty conversations and an essay component.

The Lentz/Dahl/Anderson/Campbell Scholarship is a Carthage College Presidential Scholarship Program award named for former presidents Harold Lentz, Erno Dahl, Alan Anderson, and F. Gregory Campbell. Ten scholarships are offered to incoming freshmen seeking a rigorous liberal arts education, with values from $33,000 per year to full tuition renewable four years. Submit your admission application, Presidential Scholarship Program application, activity list, and 250-word essay by December 3. Presidential Scholarships incorporate all Carthage assistance and may combine with federal and state grants not to exceed full tuition.

Wisconsin residents in their second year or above of dental, medical, psychiatry, physician assistant, or nurse practitioner programs who intend to practice in a Wisconsin Health Shortage Area may apply. Scholarships provide up to $30,000 per academic year for dentists, primary care physicians, and psychiatrists, or up to $25,000 for PAs and NPs, renewable for up to four years. Recipients agree to practice in a designated shortage area for 18 months per year of funding accepted. Apply through the Higher Educational Aids Board (HEAB). Awards are based on application postmark date.

U.S. Bank's 2026 student scholarship sweepstakes runs February 2 through October 30, 2026 with two entry periods and random drawings for prizes up to $20,000. Legal U.S. residents at least 17 who are accepted or enrolled as undergraduates taking at least six credit hours per semester may register online and complete financial literacy modules in the free Zogo app, or enter by mail without completing modules. Higher module counts unlock eligibility for larger prize tiers, and non-winning entries roll from the first period into the second.

Year-long no-purchase sweepstakes for Upromise members who are legal U.S. or D.C. residents of the age of majority. Members earn entries by linking a 529 or student loan account, opening an Upromise Mastercard, and earning cash-back rewards; alternate free entry methods are described in official rules. Monthly, quarterly, and annual prizes up to $20,000 support college savings goals through December 31, 2026.

Spouses and dependent children of Georgia public safety officers or public school employees who were permanently disabled or killed in the line of duty may qualify. School employees must have been victims of on-campus violence. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or eligible permanent residents and Georgia legal residents for at least 12 months. Grants cover the cost of attendance minus other financial aid, up to $18,000 per award year, with a lifetime maximum of $72,000. Recipients must enroll full-time at an eligible Georgia college, university, or technical college. Apply each academic year through GAfutures. Awards are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis as funds are available.

The National First Responder Pledge reduces the out-of-state portion of undergraduate tuition by up to eighteen thousand dollars per year for up to four years for first-year students who are full-time compensated first responders or their dependents. Eligible responders include firefighters, law enforcement officers, paramedics, and emergency medical technicians, excluding volunteer-only service. Applicants need a minimum three point zero high school GPA and must indicate first-responder connection on the admission or supplemental Scholarship Application. Apply by November first with a May first final deadline and submit supervisor documentation. Renewal requires a three point zero cumulative GPA and twenty-four credit hours annually at UNL.

Full-time University of Toronto master's or doctoral students in the Temerty Faculty of Medicine or the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation who are conducting diabetes research under a BBDC-registered faculty supervisor may apply for the Yow Kam-Yuen Graduate Scholarship in Diabetes Research. Applicants must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or protected persons, Ontario residents, and able to demonstrate financial need. The stipend is normally $16,000 for three sessions or $10,667 for two sessions. Submit one ProposalCentral application by April 7, 2026 to be considered for all BBDC graduate studentships.

Citizens awards one $2,500 monthly sweepstakes prize plus a $15,000 grand prize drawing through March 31, 2027 for eligible students and parents covering school expenses. Legal U.S. residents age 18 or older who are high school seniors, undergraduates, graduate students, or parents of such students may enter once per month online with no essay. Entries carry over between monthly drawings, and additional monthly entries increase chances during the promotion period.
