Culinary Arts Scholarships

U.S. citizens ages 17 to 25 who are transition-aged or aging-out foster youth with proof of foster care experience, a high school diploma or GED, and plans to attend an accredited vocational, trade, or two-year college program in a high-demand trade field may apply. Foster Love and AVB BrandSource select ten scholars per cycle for awards of up to $10,000 over up to two years, plus career coaching and personal development support. Submit the application with proof of foster care, acceptance into an accredited program, a personal statement, and two recommendation letters. Applications close once all slots are filled.

U.S. citizens or permanent residents in the Washington, DC metropolitan area accepted into a full-time culinary or hospitality post-secondary program of at least four semesters may apply for the Frans Hagen Scholarship from Educated Eats. Scholarships of up to $5,000 are paid half in the first semester and half in the second. Applicants need at least a 2.75 GPA or top-third class standing, plus culinary coursework or at least 400 hours of foodservice experience with proof. Submit the application with acceptance documentation, work experience verification, and transcripts.

Students accepted for full-time enrollment at Johnson & Wales University in culinary arts, culinary nutrition, or baking and pastry arts may apply for one of two ACFEF scholarships. Each scholarship is $2,500 per year for up to four years, applied directly to the student's institutional account. Applicants need a minimum 3.0 GPA and must intend to become a chef or pastry chef. The American Culinary Federation Education Foundation awards these scholarships on a points-based application reviewed by a selection committee.

U.S. Indigenous students pursuing a degree or certificate in hospitality, tourism, recreation, culinary arts, or a related field may apply for the American Indigenous Tourism Association Tourism and Hospitality Scholarship. Applicants need tribal documentation, at least a 2.5 GPA, and 12 volunteer hours with AIT, a tribe, or a public-lands institution. Five scholarships are awarded annually at $1,000 per fall and spring semester, up to $2,000 per academic year, paid directly to the student's college or university. Complete the application with proof of enrollment and a 500-word essay by the deadline. AIT supports Indigenous students building careers in tourism while sustaining their cultural legacy.

Students enrolled in an accredited culinary or hospitality management program may apply for Chicago Culinary Museum and Chef's Hall of Fame scholarships. Two awards of up to $500 each are granted annually based on academic achievement (3.0+ GPA), school and community activities, an essay, a recommendation letter, and financial need. Submit the completed application by email by October 1.

Accepted incoming Johnson & Wales University students who participated in Careers through Culinary Arts Program (C-CAP) competition events and hold at least a 3.5 GPA may receive C-CAP scholarships. Awards range up to full tuition per year and are renewable for up to four years while maintaining a 2.75 GPA. One finalist per campus is selected by C-CAP. Apply through C-CAP with required documentation submitted to C-CAP, not directly to JWU. A FAFSA must be on file.
