Scholarships for College Freshmen

Incoming USC first-year students are automatically considered for the Trustee Scholarship with a complete admission application by the published merit deadline (November 1 Early Action, or December 1 for portfolio majors). Candidates are selected by USC faculty and staff from an extremely competitive national pool of students pursuing the most demanding curriculum at the highest level. Talent, perseverance, innovation, involvement, and leadership are also considered. The award covers full tuition (up to about $69,900 per year). Roughly 100 awards are available.

First-, second-, and third-year U.S. medical students may apply for a yearlong immersive hematology research fellowship under an ASH member mentor. Awardees must spend more than 80 percent of the fellowship year conducting laboratory, translational, or clinical hematology research. The one-year package totals $42,000, including $32,000 trainee support, $4,000 research supplies, $4,000 for insurance and coursework, and $2,000 for meeting attendance including the ASH annual meeting. Applications open September 1 and close February 2 annually. The 2026 cycle deadline had passed by July 2026 with May notification. ASH funds this physician-scientist track to give medical students sustained exposure to hematology research careers.

Incoming first-year students admitted to Ripon College are automatically reviewed for the Ripon College Academic Scholarship after acceptance, based on the admission application and supporting materials. Selection recognizes academic achievement plus leadership and service in high school. Awards are up to $40,000, applied toward tuition only, and disbursed by semester while enrolled. Scholarships are reviewed on a rolling basis after acceptance. No separate scholarship application is required beyond admission materials.

Incoming USC first-year students are automatically considered for the Presidential Scholarship when they submit a complete admission application by the published merit deadline (November 1 Early Action, or December 1 for portfolio/audition majors). Competitive applicants pursue the most demanding curriculum and rank at the top of the pool for academic achievement; talent, perseverance, innovation, involvement, and leadership are also considered. The award covers half of tuition (up to about $34,900 per year). Roughly 200 awards are available from a competitive national pool.

First-year Boston University applicants from the U.S. and abroad with exceptionally strong academic records may be considered. Recipients typically rank in the top 5% of their high school class and show significant extracurricular leadership. The Presidential Scholarship is a renewable merit award of $25,000 per year for up to four years of undergraduate study. No separate scholarship application is required. Submit your admission application and supporting credentials by December 1 for consideration. Renewal requires satisfactory academic progress, including a minimum 3.20 GPA.

Incoming first-year students admitted to Manchester University receive automatic academic merit scholarships based on unweighted high school GPA, with no separate application required. Award amounts vary by tier: Director's $12,000 per year, Founders' $15,000 per year, Faculty $18,000 per year, Dean's $21,000 per year, and Presidential $24,000 per year. Scholarships are renewable for up to four years while maintaining satisfactory academic progress. Scholarships apply to undergraduate tuition. Recipients must enroll full time (12 credits per semester) and maintain at least a 2.0 GPA, though some awards require a higher GPA.

Colorado students at partner institutions can apply separately from the universal application for this flagship transfer and sophomore-year scholarship. Rising sophomores apply by March 15; community college transfers entering as juniors apply by June 15. Awards range from $6,000 to $22,000 per year renewable toward cost of attendance, plus access to Talkspace mental health support. Applicants need strong academic records and financial need at one of the program's Colorado partner colleges. The Reisher Scholars Program is among Colorado's largest scholarship programs, administered by The Denver Foundation and the Reisher Family Foundation.

New first-time freshmen in Colorado Christian University's College of Undergraduate Studies may qualify for the Trustees' Scholarship based on high school GPA and required ACT, SAT, or CLT scores. Typical thresholds are a 3.8 GPA with a 28 ACT, 1310 SAT, or 92 CLT. The award is $21,000 per year, renewable up to eight semesters (or until the undergraduate degree is completed, whichever comes first) with satisfactory academic progress and continuous enrollment, often including a 3.5 cumulative GPA to keep the award. Applicants are automatically considered with admission.

First-year students admitted to Heidelberg University in Tiffin, Ohio are considered for merit academic scholarships based on a holistic review of high school or college performance, involvement, essay, recommendations, and test scores. Annual awards go up to $20,000 per year across tiers including Presidential, Dean's, Faculty, Academic Award, and Prince Promise levels. Scholarships are renewable while maintaining Satisfactory Academic Progress. No separate application is required beyond the admission application. The Office of Financial Aid awards scholarships after acceptance.

Non-Florida resident freshmen admitted to the University of Florida who apply by the November 1 priority deadline are automatically considered for merit-based out-of-state tuition waivers. No separate scholarship application is required. Three tiers reduce nonresident tuition over four years: Alumni (up to $8,000 per year), Sunshine (up to $16,000 per year), and Gator Nation (up to $20,000 per year). Awards are highly competitive and not guaranteed by test scores or GPA alone. Selected students receive an offer via email by mid-March. Review uses the same holistic criteria as the admissions process.
