About this scholarship
Non-Florida resident freshmen admitted to the University of Florida who apply by the November 1 priority deadline are automatically considered for merit-based out-of-state tuition waivers. No separate scholarship application is required.
Three tiers reduce nonresident tuition over four years: Alumni (up to $8,000 per year), Sunshine (up to $16,000 per year), and Gator Nation (up to $20,000 per year). Awards are highly competitive and not guaranteed by test scores or GPA alone.
Selected students receive an offer via email by mid-March. Review uses the same holistic criteria as the admissions process.
